Drum Lessons

Build Rhythm. Develop Confidence. Make Music.

Drum lessons at Rebekah Ann Vocals & Music Academy give students the skills, structure, and confidence to become strong, expressive musicians. Whether a student is picking up drumsticks for the first time or wants to strengthen their existing abilities, lessons are tailored to their experience, musical interests, and personal goals.

Our students learn more than how to play a beat. They develop timing, coordination, listening skills, musical independence, and the ability to confidently play alongside other musicians.

What Students Learn

Drum lessons may include:

  • Proper grip, posture, and playing technique

  • Rhythm reading and music notation

  • Coordination and limb independence

  • Rudiments and essential sticking patterns

  • Beats, grooves, fills, and transitions

  • Tempo control and use of a metronome

  • Song structure and musical dynamics

  • Playing along with favorite songs

  • Performance preparation and stage presence

Each lesson combines technical development with music the student is excited to play, making practice purposeful, engaging, and rewarding.

Lessons for Beginners and Developing Drummers

Beginners receive a clear, encouraging introduction to the drum set and the fundamentals of rhythm. Students learn how the different parts of the kit work together while gradually building the coordination needed to play complete beats and songs.

Developing drummers work on improving consistency, speed, musicality, and performance skills. Lessons can also support students preparing for school ensembles, worship teams, auditions, bands, or live performances.

More Than Drum Lessons

At Rebekah Ann Vocals & Music Academy, we believe students grow when they have meaningful opportunities to use what they are learning.

In addition to weekly instruction, students may have opportunities to participate in Academy performances, including our live-band Spotlight Concert. These experiences teach students how to follow musical cues, collaborate with other musicians, recover from mistakes, and perform with confidence.

Our goal is not simply to teach students how to play the drums—it is to help them become capable, dependable, and expressive musicians.

A Personalized Approach

Every student learns differently. Lessons are adapted to the student’s age, ability, learning style, and musical interests. Students receive clear practice goals so they know what to work on between lessons and can recognize their progress from week to week.

We value strong communication, consistent practice, excellent instruction, and an environment where students feel welcomed, supported, and challenged to grow.
